Spare parts from HEROS
In addition to the sale and rental of railway vehicles for selected vehicle types, HEROS also supplies components.
For selected vehicle types, HEROS has built up its own inventories, which were either purchased or removed from vehicles that were no longer repairable. Components that are no longer manufactured and that have an obsolescence problem in vehicles of the respective type are also selectively recovered.
The main vehicle types for which HEROS has spare parts in stock are RegioShuttle RS1 series 1 to 3, Inter-Regio passenger coaches, MD36.6 bogies (SZ 366 and SZ366.1), type 093 wheelsets, SMA 1000/24 battery chargers, SMA MGVG3000/24/220-GVG, SMA MGVG3000/24/220-HST, SMA MGVG3000/24 GVG24-06, SMA TRDIM10-01.
EB: Bogies MD 36.6, SZ366.1
The SZ366.1 bogies are a development that led to the production of bogie frames from around 2000 onwards, capable of replacing older SZ366 frames. The SZ366.1 frames were developed by SGP (now Siemens).
HEROS currently has two sets of MD36.6 bogies complete with wheelsets, brake components, and SZ366.1 bogie frames. The bogie frames were built between 2002 and 2003 and are operational again after an overhaul.
EB: Bogies MD 36.6, SZ366
MD36.6 bogies use bogie frames with the code number SZ366. They are one of the most common traditional bogies for passenger coaches in Germany and the former Federal Republic of Germany.
Equipped with magnetic brakes, MD36.6 bogies are often used in operation at speeds of up to 200 km/h. Speeds of up to 330 km/h have already been achieved with these bogies during test runs.
HEROS currently has a pair of used MD36.6 bogies for sale.
EC: Wheelsets BA 093 (for example for bogies MD36, MD43)
Type 093 wheelsets are used in a variety of passenger cars, including MD36 and MD43 bogies. Key technical specifications are:
- For a track gauge of 1435mm
- New wheel diameter: 905mm +4mm
- Worn wheel diameter: 890mm +2mm
- 2 axle-mounted brake discs, mounted at a distance of 790mm +/- 0.5mm
HEROS maintains a stock of fully refurbished and immediately operational BA093 wheelsets:
- Wheelsets equipped with new wheel-disks according to IS3S with wheel diameters between 950mm and 954mm, last IS3S in December 2024, 0km since then.
- Wheelsets after maintenance IS2 (reprofiling, non-destructive testing, maintenance of axle-bearings) with wheel diameters between 910mm and 944mm, last IS2 between June and October 2024, 0km since then.
When purchased, the wheel sets are ready for collection within a few days of purchase and can therefore help to avoid vehicle downtime.
HB: Inverter 24V / 230V
Inverters are used in a wide variety of applications on railway vehicles. Inverters are particularly frequently used when a battery voltage of, for example, 24V or 110V needs to be converted into a standard AC voltage of, for example, 230V (or 220V), e.g., to power standard lighting or to provide power for sockets in the passenger area. Other typical applications include powering coffee machines or electrically heating underground wastewater tanks.
The following inverter models are available from HEROS at short notice:
