Regional Driving Trailer Coach Bybdzf 482

The Bybdzf driving trailers were manufactured in eastern Germany and, with their versatility, represent an important element of Deutsche Bahn local transportation. Push-pull or reversible train operation of normal or even double-decker coaches can be realised with them.

Bybdzf coaches typically have 46 second class seats and 15 folding seats in the multipurpose area. The multipurpose area is suitable for taking along, for example, bicycles, prams, or large pieces of luggage.

The special feature of Bybdzf coaches is that these driving trailers can communicate with a very wide variety of locomotives following a wide variety of principles. Depending on the model, the following are implemented:

  • 34-pin or 36-pin discrete push-pull train controls, also conventional push-pull train controls for electric locomotives
  • 34-pin or 36-pin conventional push-pull train controls for diesel locomotives
  • Time division multiplex push-pull train controls via UIC cable in accordance with UIC 568 or information and control lead
  • Frequency division multiplex train controls via information and control lead

Thanks to this variety of control options, Bybdzf coaches can be used both as driving trailers trains composed of y-type coaches in front of diesel locomotives (e.g. BR218) and in front of electric locomotives (e.g. BR111), as well as in front of trains composed of any coaches with UIC lead in front of any locomotives with time division multiplex push-pull train controls.

Bybdzf coaches are typically operated together with Inter-Regio coaches, y-type coaches, or n-type coaches or Inter-Regio coaches.

HEROS offers the Bybdzf coaches for lease and sale.
